The Shapes SeriesThis series is focused on developing the following skills:
My pattern writing book is aimed at 3-5 year olds. Shape book 1 - 7 is aimed at 5-7 year olds. My Printing/Cursive Book - small lettersThis book is focused on introducing the learner from the age of 3-7 to the letters of the alphabet. The learner will be able to trace each letter and practice writing on their own. They will also learn the “phonetic” pronunciation of the lower case alphabet and words associated with each letter. This activity book helps to refine fine motor skills and revise the letters of the alphabet. My First Maths Book - Introduction to + and -This activity book builds on the foundations learnt in My 123 counting book. Numbers from 0-20 are revised and word sums are introduced. Basic addition and subtraction sums with counters are also introduced. Word sums difficulty increases at the end of the book to encourage lateral and literal thinking. My 1, 2, 3 BookThis activity book introduces learners to the number system and is aimed at ages 3-6. They will learn to count from 0-20 through fun activities. They will also learn to write the number and the words from 0-20. Fine motor skills of numeral (number) recognition and number names are taught. This book is available in English, Afrikaans and other official languages.Fact Families for + and -This activity book is focused on introducing the learner to the concept of “fact families” for addition and subtraction. A fact family is a set of three numbers that are all related by the same three numbers. Fact families from 0-20 are introduced and fun activities are at the end of each section to challenge the learner’s knowledge. This book follows on from the “Introduction to addition and subtraction” book.Times Table Book - Grade 3This activity book teaches the learner their times tables from 0-12. Fact families of multiplication and division are introduced and activities to revise what they have learnt are placed throughout the activity book. This is aimed at grade 3 learners and encourages the learner to memorise their fact families for multiplication and division. Vertical and horizontal sums have been included to aid the learners in solving both types of mathematical problems.Colours and ShapesColours play an important role as we are surrounded by colours in the world we live in. We use colours as a form of communication (i.e. red means stop), in the development of maths (as they learn to match colours, mix colours, and recognise colour patterns). They learn to speak in colour language (i.e. the red fire engine) to express themselves. Recall and reinforcement of geometrical shapes is emphasised.Phonics - Learning My AlphabetThe learner is taught to associate letters with their sound values and is a method a method of teaching beginners to read or enunciate. The letters focused on are the lower case letters. Basic words and pictures are used to introduce the learner to the sounds of the each letter. The learners say the words, colour in the pictures and then practice writing and recognising the letters of the alphabet.TimeThis fun interactive workbook teaches the learner about analogue and digital time. The learner not only learns to tell the time but also to show one another how to tell the time using their own activity clocks and worksheets.HealthThe learner will learn about issues such as my body, my senses, nutrition, hygiene, food, exercise, communicable diseases and HIV/AIDS in a creative, easy to understand manner. They will use art activities such as skeleton making, puppet making and creativity worksheets to explore these issues and learn to apply them to their daily lives. The puppets become useful in encouraging the learner to talk about their health, life and their senses.Contact us today for a meeting or a quote! Let us expand your world of teaching! |
